BLOG 4 "TIME TRAVEL"

I´m really into psychedelic music and specially from band of the 60´s and 70´s from Europe, like Neu from Germany or King Crimson from England,  I can write a lot of band from different places of Europe but one place I really like for its music is England and specially between the decades of the 70´s and 80´s. Also I like the cultural movement from that period of time, for example the skinheads (the antifa one), the rude boys, the punks, stoners and many more, and the reason a like those movement its because they got a very strong class consciousness, the rude boys for example, they believe in race equality and the two tone movement is called that way because black and white folks were doing music against racism. But I think that the 80's were a very political time in England (and in the world too) with the Malvinas war those cultural movement were against all those conflicts, for example skinheads hate Margaret Thatcher and for me if I was born in that time I would like to...

BLOG 3 INGLES IV "MY DREAM JOB"

I´m finishing film and tv, actually if everything goes well I will be defending my title work (our thesis) by January of next year. My title work is a short film where I´m the “sound director”, it's kinda funny because in this university nobody uses the term “sound director”, actually everybody uses the term “sound guy”, I think using that term minimizes the work that sound directors do, because they don´t only record the sound in the filming, they do the sound design, the dubbing, the foley, the mixing and the mastering. I think that the sound departament is way underrated by our teachers and the students. Pablo Pinto, one of the four teachers that teach sound in FCEI once said “Sound is the most silent work in filming, because nobody notices when things are well recorded”, I believe it.  When I was in the filming we were shooting in Santiago Centro, the actress were late and to take advantage of that I went to take a room tone of the Ahumada street (room tone is when we re...

BLOG 2 INGLES IV "TTNG LIVE IN MATUCANA 100"

I consider myself a music lover, I listen to a lot of music, like from EDM, going through Jazz, to more unknown music genres like Math Rock.  Because Math Rock is a niche or underground music genre the big majorities of the bands don´t go on tour so often and mostly they go to Europe, Japan and North America, leaving behind part of Asia and South America, it's curious that the only place in South America that they tour is Mexico. But surprisingly here in Chile we got a huge Math Rock scene with a couple of really goods bands like Tortuganonima, band that I have seen it live one time in Matucana 100 and a week after that, This Town Needs Guns (TTNG) my favorite Math Rock band announce that they were be playing live in Matucana 100. Obviously I went. I had a great time and it was the best concert that I have been to. I went with one of my best friends. We sing along all the songs, yell NICE THINGS to the guitarist that he's an absolute beast at the guitar.

I´m into japanese culture not because of the anime but for the music, my favorite bans are from japan, for example, fishmans, tricot, toe, yellow magic orchestra also is the country where lives Haruomi Hosono, my biggest influence on the way I listen to music.  As well, I like the architecture, that mixes with the tradition and the innovation, you can find in the middle of the city some temples that are between two financial building for example, also I would like to try the street food, like for example the “takoyakis” that are octopus breaded fried balls, its originally from the region of Kansai.  But the main reason I would like to visit Japan is to buys original japanese vinyls that are know for be the best manufactured vinyls, for that I would love to tour since Akihabara to Shibuya just looking for my favorites records “Hosono house - Haruomi Hosono” and “100x multiple - Yellow Magic Orchestra”, records I know that are only in japan because I couldn't find it in a...

Steve Albini

As a film student in one point of the career we need to specialize in one or two departament, for example you can specialize in the Art department or the Photography department, in my case i´m specialize in the sound department. Overall the sound department is one of the least favorite departments because most people find it boring, however it's one of the most important departments and the most difficult to master. But for me, it's my favorite, and because of that I got a lot of references, like Steve Albini. Steve Albini is an American musician, sound engineer, journalist and record producer, he was born on july 22 of 1962, he is the owner and the main engineer of Electrical Audio studios, he has recorded bands like Nirvana, Pixies, The breeders, Pj Harvey, Don caballero, one of my favorites band, and many more. He doesn't like to be described like a music producer because he thinks that the job of the producer is similar to the job of an engineer, he also refuses to ta...

A meal I really like

Imagen
One of my favorites meals it's probably the pizza in all of theirs formats, like for example the Napoli pizza, the american pizza and fugazzeta, I would say that my favorite pizza is one I made myself, not because I’m egocentric but because I couldn't find it in any pizza restaurant I have been. Originally this recipe was an idea from my dad but with time I have perfected it. This pizza is made by using 800g of flour, 400ml of warm water, and a couple spoons of olive oil, mix all together and it should result in a elastic dough, later I extend the dough in a plate and put it in the oven for like 15 minutes, meanwhile I cut some  green chilli pepper, sausage, and some blue cheese, past the 15 minutes, I start to prepare the pizza, I spread the tomato sauce with a wood spoon, over the sauce I put the cheese, later I spread the toppings  and finally I put the pizza in the oven for another 15 minutes at 200 celsius degrees or until the cheese is melted.  "TAKE THE PIC...
